With a career that spans over three decades, Chi Chi LaRue will forever remain one of the most iconic directors in the history of porn. With hundreds of films to his credit, Chi Chi has created classic works with heavyweights like Falcon, Dragon Media, Noir, Icon Male, Catalina, HIS Video, and now, Chi Chi LaRaw.

Chi Chi’s road to adult entertainment began upon his move to California in the 80s, where he worked at Catalina Video as an administrative assistant. Before making his way to The Golden State, Chi Chi lived in Minnesota and worked at an adult bookstore and started his drag career.

Though he initially signed on for an office position at Catalina, the legendary William Higgins became so impressed by Chi Chi’s impassioned love and expertise of porn that he offered him the opportunity to direct, six months after he was hired. From there, his rise to the top of the industry.

Over the course of his career, Chi Chi has not only flexed his skills within the gay realm, he also shot successful straight and bisexual films with major names like Vivid. He’s responsible for discovering popular stars like Zak Spears, Joey Stefano, Johnny Hazzard, and a plethora of others. In 1995, he was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.

In more recent years, Chi Chi has continued to make major moves, becoming the owner of Channel 1 Releasing and adding roles as a DJ and music video director to his incredible resume.
